An Important Difference Relating To Pure Juice and Juice Drinks

With so many drinks on the market that are labeled as juice, why do they actually contain hardly any?

The label is what always catches our eye first. And when its got pictures of fruits and the actual word juice, you are obviously going to think that you are buying a nice and healthy drink with a high percentage of real fruit juice. We tend to think that anything with fruit in is good for us.

In the majority of cases, unfortunately, this just isn’t the case. The pictures and descriptions blatantly mislead you into drinking something that isn’t what you think it is.

The actual percentage of real juice in these drinks varies wildly. It’s disgusting to think that most of them have a great deal less than 50% of actual juice.

When you decided to try and get fit, I bet one of the first things you did was cut out sugary food and drinks, including soda. I also bet that you haven’t realized that you have replaced them with these misleading drinks that are even worse for us than soda was! Check out the ingredients if you don’t believe me, you were better off with your soda!

All fruits have natural sugars; that is part of why we enjoy them so much, their sweetness. The only sugar we need are these natural sugars and no extra, yet the amount that we are consuming via these drinks is staggering. If the percentage of actual juice is 30%, the other 70% is made up of all manner of additives, and most of them are sugar under different names.

Although public awareness is slowly grasping this information, there are still millions of us consuming these drinks under the misconception that are consuming something healthy. If you are on a diet and the weight isn’t shifting, these drinks will have a lot to do with it.

The best thing you can do is check the label for he exact wording and the juice percentage. Check for terms such as ‘juice drink’ or ‘blended juices’ etc. If you want pure juice with all the benefits it brings, only buy a product that is 100% pure juice.

Should You Eat At Late Hours?

It is common knowledge that one should not indulge in excessive eating late at night. The belief is that if you’re sleeping then you’re not using the energy and so it will end up on your hips for eternity.

Is this the truth of the matter, or just a myth that has circulated so widely that it’s seen as truth? What do the facts of the matter actually suggest?

It is true that energy not used up by your body is stored as fat, this is not a myth. If our calorie intake is greater than our calorie usage then we will see this reflected in our weight in the form of fat.

Calories that are burnt are not only the ones that we have just consumed and therefore the idea of us gaining weight due to eating late at night is not true.

It is also the case that everything we do uses energy to some extent. All the little movements you make and even when you’re sleeping, you are in constant use of your energy supplies.

Many experts will tell you that it’s a bad idea to avoid eating anything late at night. After all, the body may then go up to 12 or more hours without acquiring any new means of energy or any nutrients. Would you ever go 12 hours without eating during the middle of the day?

It is obvious however to avoid sugary foods late at night, in fact it’s a good thing to avoid these at any time of the day but if eaten at night they will keep you awake for longer and when you finally do sleep your sleep will be a disturbed one.

Since you’ll never want to go without a good night’s sleep, it’s clear that sugar should be avoided late at night. Otherwise, there’s no truth to this unsubstantiated myth that eating late at night is more likely to lead to weight gain.

Drinks We Recommend For The Winter Months

In the dark days of winter, we pile on layers of extra clothes and turn up the fire in an attempt to banish the cold. We are warm on the outside, but why should our insides do without? They deserve to be warmed up too!

Top of the pile is everyone’s favorite winter warmer: hot chocolate. There are so many ways to enjoy this drink, so why not try some these variations. Some you will have tried, others may appeal to you and make you want to try them.

Two obvious ones are cream or marshmallows; these basically act as sweeteners and don’t add much to the taste.

Why not add mint to your hot chocolate? This can be done easily with peppermint or even a candy cane to give different strengths of minty taste. If you are a fan of peppermint bark, imagine it warmed up in a cup, sounds good doesn’t it?

An indulgent way to make hot chocolate is to pop some chocolate into a cup and melt it by pouring on boiling milk. This is rich, delicious hot chocolate, not the substitute which comes courtesy of instant powder or granules.

If you fancy something a bit different as your hot winter drink, why not try something fruity? An apple drink such as Cider is both warming and delicious; add a few spices for extra warmth.

If you prefer it a bit sweeter, you could try it with caramel. This is a versatile drink that can various things added to it, all resulting in satisfying, fruity beverage.

A very sweet drink that gives the impression of being a dessert is easily created by adding Nutella to your coffee. Coffee with Hazelnuts is a well known beverage, and the inclusion of chocolate into the mix is surprisingly good.

They say that the secret of life is to be happy. Many people believe that this is more important than anything else. What you accomplish, how you live, and anything else mean virtually nothing if you\’re not happy with it.

Having said that, it\’s critical that you\’re happy with your lifestyle, no matter how you\’re living right now. I\’d like to give you three tips that I believe will be useful in maintaining your happiness.

The first recommendation is to get into a regular exercise routine. Some of us shy away from exercise because it seems like too much effort, but it\’s actually the quickest route to feeling happy.

Exercise causes the release of chemically induced hormones, known as endorphins, into the body. These have the effect of making you feel good. So, exercise regularly and you will maintain your happiness.

Next, you should get yourself a hobby. Find an activity that you enjoy. Studies have shown that when we\’re concentrating on our favorite pastimes, whatever they may be, all that positive brain activity raises our spirits.

Some depression sufferers find they feel so much better when their minds are focused on their hobbies. They provide a total escape from the trials and tribulations of everyday life.

The last thing that I\’d suggest tweaking is your diet. They say that you are what you eat, and there are certain foods that simply lead to diminished spirits. Foods high in sugar are most responsible for these feelings, and you should definitely try to avoid as many of these foods as you can.

On the other side of the equation, eating natural foods like fruits and vegetables will provide your body with important nutrients that improve your attitude all around. Try it out consistently for a few weeks, and I\’m nearly certain you\’ll notice the difference.

Try Other Healthier Drinks In Place Of Sodas

Let\’s face the truth about it. We love soda and it tastes great. It\’s sweet, it\’s refreshing and cold, and the carbonation feels great on the way down.

They are refreshing but, believe me, sodas are not what we should be drinking. Allow me to explain the reasons why.

Firstly, there are a few ingredients in sodas that do your teeth no good at all. Colorings and sugars have an adverse effect on teeth, as do the other chemicals in diet sodas.

Even a clear drink such as Sprite, if taken regularly, will make your teeth go yellow. And everybody hates yellow teeth!

Although they contain no fat, sodas can still make you put on weight. If you don\’t burn off all the sugar they contain it will just turn to fat in your body. This is the reason some people go for diet sodas.

But even diet sodas with zero calories can\’t be relied on to keep us slim. Scientific studies have shown that the chemicals and the sweetness of these drinks deceive the brain into thinking we\’re taking in sugars, so our bodies continue to store fat. Diet sodas? Diet busters, more like!

As refreshing as they might seem, sodas that contain caffeine actually make you thirstier. They contain water, of course, but the caffeine in them is a diuretic and this reduces their hydrating power. If you\’re going to slake your thirst with a soda, it\’s best to have some water with it.

If, like many people, you\’re crazy about sweet fizzy drinks, there\’s no need to worry. Healthy alternatives are available in the form of carbonated juice drinks. They taste really good and are completely free of sugars and chemical additives. Be sensible and try one of these next time. You\’ll lose nothing as far as taste and enjoyment are concerned, but you\’ll feel so much better.
