How To Get Your Workplace To Help You Lose Weight

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

In this day and age, desk jobs are the norm. Thus, learning how to change your workplace can be an effective strategy for losing more weight. You see, your immediate environment has a huge impact on your health.

Unfortunately, many people do not know how to change their environment in such a way that it overrides their misbehavior.

So here is how to get your workplace to help you lose more weight:

1. Schedule your meals just like meetings: Doing this is a great way to make sure you stay on course and don’t falter. Even better, research has shown that people who keep a regular eating schedule are more likely to lose the greatest amounts of weight.

2. Don’t rely on food at work: Instead, make sure you bring as much of your own food as possible. Doing this will keep you in the safe zone because most catered food is unhealthy and you don’t know what is in it. On the other hand, home prepared food can only have what you put in it.

3. Stash snacks everywhere: The more fall back options you have, the less likely you will ever be stuck with junk food. Keep healthy snacks in your business car, desk and any other easily accessible location at work. You never want to be stuck without good food.

4. Stay away from the coffee drip: Coffee isn’t bad for you, per se. But it doesn’t provide for a smooth and consistent rise in energy. Instead, have green tea which will elevate your metabolism more than coffee, provide more anti oxidants and not cause any energy crashes.

5. Work upright: One of the biggest negatives of desk jobs is that you work from the seated position. A better approach is top work standing. Now this may seem a little extreme, but I can guarantee that it’s very effective. Not only will your lower back be healthier, but you will also burn many more calories which in turn will increase weight loss.

Your desk job doesn’t have to be a weight gain curse. You can change your environment so that you can lose more weight with less effort. The key here is to take action here quickly. Don’t wait for results to fall out of the sky!

Warning: Sculpted Arms And Fruit Juice Don’t Go Hand In Hand

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Are you trying to figure out how to get slim arms? Do you drink lots of juice because you think it’s healthy? Well the two don’t mix! Fruit juice has been shown to increase body fat.

All the late night infomercials, however, would have you believe otherwise. The key here is to ignore those compelling images of fit people thrusting every type of fruit imaginable down the juicer.

What’s so bad about juice? It’s the sugar that causes harm. What’s so bad about sugar? It raises levels of insulin. And once insulin goes up, arm fat burning completely shuts down. There are no exceptions here!

And here are 4 more reasons why you should stay away from fruit juice if you want to get thin arms:

1. It causes your liver to secrete not so good things. What type of things? Excess fatty acids and bad cholesterol! Now you really do NOT want these two floating around within your body if your main goal is to get thin and slim arms.

2. It increases fat stores in the female body. This has been proven by peer reviewed research. And all it takes is a large glass of juice to increase rates of obesity among young people. So please stay away from Jamba Juice.

3. Most fruit juice doesn’t have any pulp or peel. Once the pulp and/or peel is gone, all the fiber is gone as well. And fiber is what will slow down the digestion of the juice.

4. Most processed fruit juice doesn’t have hardly any nutrients. Related to the previous point, most of a fruits’ nutrients are concentrated in the peel! Apple peels, for instance, have 200% more antioxidant capacity then just the apple fruit.

Now I don’t recommend going on an all-you-can-eat-fruit-peel-buffet. Some peels taste absolutely horrible, I know because I’ve tried them! Tip: stay away from banana peels. However, I do recommend staying away from fruit juice. And if you absolutely have to have some, make sure it has lots of pulp, and if possible, peel, and also make sure you only have a very small glass.

Can You Get Toned Arms With Night Eating Syndrome?

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Night eating syndrome is thin arm enemy #1.

And what exactly is NES? Also known as night eating syndrome, NES is a condition where you have extremely small quantities of food during the day and have extremely LARGE quantities of food at night. It also messes up your levels of arm-thinning hormones.

And how do you figure out if you have NES? Take a look at the following list:

1. No breakfast. The complete skipping of breakfast, and in extreme cases lunch, is a cardinal sign of NES. Do you bolt out of your house every morning without having ANYTHING to eat?

2. Reduced mental function. A poor mood with little ability to concentrate can be indicative of poor early day nutrition. When you restrict calories during the earlier parts of the day, mental functioning and mood will be greatly reduced.

3. Multiple awakenings at night followed by trips to the refrigerator. Disturbed sleep and excessive food intake at night are primary characteristics of night eating syndrome victims. The interrupted sleep and caloric load really put the nails in your thin arm coffin.

4. Eat lots of carbohydrates at night. The reduced mood is usually compensated for by gorging on carbohydrates at night. If you find yourself loading up on pasta at night, you may have NES.

5. Feelings of anxiety at night. If you feel high strung or anxious when eating, you’re most likely compensating with food. The pairing of negative emotions and food intake is another tell tale sign of NES.

6. Family members with the same patterns. Yep, night eating syndrome runs in the family! So if your family members have it, you’re more likely to have it!

Unfortunately, it’s virtually impossible to get thin and slim arms if you are suffering from night eating syndrome because your body will most likely store all that late night food as arm fat. It’s just the way the female metabolism works. So if you have night eating syndrome please seek professional help to overcome it! Only then will you reach sexy arm stardom.

5 Shocking Issues About Arm Sculpting And Sweeteners

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Getting sexy arms while battling a sugar addiction is extremely hard. Low calorie sweeteners, however, will appease your sweet tooth while providing negligible amounts of calories.

Seems too good to be true though, doesn’t it?

Well, recent research has been demonstrating that artificial sweeteners are extremely unhealthy to the point of causing cancer.

So here is the truth behind thin arms and artificial sweeteners:

1. They can increase cancer risk. A solid study showed that low calorie sweeteners can increase cancer risk by thirty percent, not good! The good news, however, is that the increase in cancer was associated with the highest levels of intake.

2. They’re within many products. Companies love to inject their food with abundant and varied quantities of artificial sweeteners because it allows them to market products as being low calorie. So beware and lookout for sweeteners in all places.

3. Studies showing safety have NOT been long term. Every single study done on artificial sweeteners has been short term, not good. And most of them have been conducted by the manufactures. Thus, the research is both short term and biased.

4. Aspartame was found to be toxic in rodents. The largest rodent study to have ever been conducted found that aspartame (i.e., equal or NutraSweet) increases rates of various cancers. And the legal limit for aspartame consumption in the United States and Europe is twice the amount given to the rodents.

5. Just because it’s natural doesn’t make it safer. Stevia use to be my favorite sweetener because it’s natural. Then I came across some research showing that it converts into a mutagen within the human intestine. Not good, even if you really want thin arms!

The bottom line is that we do NOT know if low calorie sweeteners are safe for long term consumption. Thus, I recommend that you limit your low calorie sweetener intake to no more than 3 servings per day. And less is better here. So the best approach is to have the bare minimum necessary! After all, getting sexy arms should not damage your health!

How To Master And Maximize Your Metabolism

Monday, March 15th, 2010

Trying to get in shape while neglecting your metabolism is like trying to push a boulder up a steep hill. And most people are simply misinformed when it comes to keeping the metabolic fires burning.

Are you feeling a little sluggish? Are the pounds not coming off any more? If so, your metabolism is probably tanking.

So without further ado, here are 5 steps for mastering your metabolism:

1. Having regular intervals of caloric spiking: Doing this will prevent your metabolism from crashing as this happens with many extreme dieters. Besides, why would you want to lose weight this way if you are going to be left with a flabby, un-toned body.

2. Eat lots of protein: But don’t go to extremes a la Atkins. If you do, your energy will drop to extremely low levels. Instead, try to get about 30% of your calories from protein. This will keep your muscles in constant repair and rebuild mode while also inducing a strong thermic effect.

3. Eat before your workouts: You want to have small meals here, but you need to eat something. You see, failing to eat will have you burning less fat and exercising with less intensity-a horrible combo for maximum metabolic effects.

4. Have green tea: And don’t think that coffee makes the cut here. You see, coffee lacks a crucial metabolic boosting ingredient: catechins. Moreover, coffee is more likely to give you a rise and then sharp crash in energy. So stick to green tea for the best results.

5. Don’t drink like a camel: If you only drink when you get thirsty or when you eat, you are missing out big time. You see, your body hydrates best when you drink small amounts of water consistently during the day. So make sure you sip water in between meals for maximum effect here.

Increasing your metabolism is one of the best things you can do to keep the pounds of fat coming off. So make sure you take action on this information now, don’t delay. If you delay, you are more likely to forget what you have learned.
