How To Get Your Hormones To Burn More Fat

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

There is an eternal debate about whether or not calories ultimately control fat loss. Many wonder if the type of food you eat is more important than the amount of calories you eat. In any case, there are more powerful entities here: hormones.

After all, hormones don’t really follow the whole calorie constraint model. In fact, one study showed that men sitting on a couch could gain muscle and burn fat when given testosterone.

Thus, here is how to make sure your hormones don’t prevent you from losing weight:

1. Keep your cardiovascular system healthy: Surprisingly, an unhealthy cardiovascular system can have a negative impact on your entire hormonal system. This mainly happens when your blood pressure is too high. So make sure you exercise hard, take some aspirin and get on medication if you doctor thinks this is right.

2. Avoid HRT: You should avoid hormone replacement therapy unless your doctor thinks it’s necessary. You see, if you take hormones above and beyond what your body naturally produces, it will backfire. Your system will crash in addition to a whole range of other negative effects in your body.

3. Become more insulin sensitive: Doing so will divert more calories to your active tissues. And if more calories are going to your active tissues, less go to your fat tissues. Thus, increasing insulin sensitivity is a great way to burn more fat.

4. Resistance train: Resistance training is the best way to get your body producing as many hormones as possible. Now you don’t have to become a fitness freak here, but at the very least resistance train two times per week.

5. Go to your doctor for a test: Your body may be producing low levels of hormones for reasons out of your control. And going to your doctor is a great way to make sure this isn’t happening to you. After all, the last thing you want is to not be able to lose fat because of some fixable hormonal imbalance.

Mastering your hormones is a great way to lose more fat, period. If you can get your body to produce as many hormones as possible naturally, you will be able to get the physique of your dreams!

5 Lies About Reducing Bingo Wings And Protein

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Because of the popularity of high protein diets and the aggressive marketing of supplement companies, women are more confused than ever about protein. Are you confused because so many women are?

I know I was confused back when I was doing research.

It seems almost impossible to find the truth about protein amongst so much marketing material. And if you don’t know how to optimize your protein intake you could waste a lot of time trying to get rid of those flabby arms.

So here are 5 misconceptions about flabby arms and protein:

1. Powders and bars are superior to food. Whole food will always provide a superior supply of protein because protein from whole food sources will digest slower and will be accompanied by a whole range of additional nutrients.

2. Whey protein is the gold standard. If you’re having multiple whey protein shakes per day, please stop! Not only is your purse getting lighter, but you’re also slowing down your results. Only have whey protein right after your workout. And make sure to eat within 30 minutes or your amino acid pool could drop.

3. Fast absorbing protein is best. Just like with carbohydrates, slower digestion is better. Any time you spike a nutrient in your bloodstream there is going to be a subsequent drop. And protein is no exception.

4. Bigger is better. We love big portions and protein is no exception. If your protein intake exceeds 30% of your total caloric intake, however, the positives turn into negatives. So have small servings of protein in every meal and stay away from the meat buffets.

5. Steroids in animal protein affect health. While there are ethical and ecological reasons to avoid steroid-enhanced meat, there have been no conclusive studies showing a direct impact on female health. Having said that, you are better off eating grass fed meat because of higher omega-3 content.

Getting rid of flabby arms and reducing that arm fat involves a solid understanding of how protein affects the female body. Please do not buy into the supplement companies claims and please do not buy into high protein diets. The bottom line is that whole food sources of protein in moderation are best for reducing flabby arms.

Caution: 4 Things You Shouldn’t Be Doing When Toning Arms

Monday, March 8th, 2010

The reduction of fat arms has become quite the mystery. The truth is that countless women are lost in a sea of information confusion.

How can this happen? Well, I believe the majority of confusion can be traced back to extreme marketing tactics. To complicate things further, sometimes the research isn’t even clear!

And if the professionals have a hard time figuring out the facts, how are you going to? This creates a very challenging situation. The good news, however, is that I’ve already done the homework for you.

So without further ado, here are 4 things you shouldn’t be doing to reduce fat arms:

1. Assuming supplements are better than food. Nothing could be further from the truth. Most supplements don’t work. Let me repeat that, most supplements don’t work. Supplement regulation is broken in our country, that’s the truth. Besides, whole foods interact with each other in beneficial ways that science doesn’t fully understand.

2. Thinking regularly taking fiber is healthy. Well, the research has shown that modest fiber supplementation can increase colon cancer risk. So dump the Metamucil and stick to vegetables.

3. Equating thinness with health. Being thin is no guarantee of having toned arms. And being thin is no guarantee of being healthy. I’ve seen thin women with flabby arms and I’ve seen thin women undergo triple bypass surgeries because their diets are so poor.

4. Thinking carbs are the only macronutrients that can mess with insulin. I have some bad news: saturated fat and high protein intakes can also mess up your insulin levels. So make sure you are eating with balance across all foods.

Ok, now you know 4 mistakes you shouldn’t make in your journey to get sexy and lean arms. And knowing what to avoid is extremely important in any endeavor. After all, time spent doing useless things is time that could be used to get you closer to your goal.

How To Get Your Stomach To Help You Lose More Fat

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Your stomach and digestive system not only breaks down food, but it also serves as a somewhat first line of defense against invading organisms.

Thus, by extension, a healthy stomach will help you lose more weight. Keep in mind that you will be able to extract more energy from a smaller amount of calories.

So here is how to get your stomach to help you lose more fat:

1. Avoid NES: Also known as night eating syndrome, eating huge meals late at night is horrible for your stomach. You see, when you do this late at night, acid is more likely to travel up your esophagus. Unfortunately, over time, this can wreak havoc on your digestive system.

2. Increase volume and hormonal output: If you increase the volume of what you eat, your stomach’s mechanoreceptors will send a feel full signal to your brain. One way to accomplish this is with vegetables and roughage. You can also increase feel full hormones by including protein and fats in your meals.

3. Keep records: By keeping a record of how food is affecting your digestive state, you will be able to figure out which foods should be eliminated from your diet. Doing may seem tedious, but it really isn’t and it will provide invaluable benefits to your health.

4. Floss, scrape and brush: While this is more of a preventative strategy, making sure your oral hygiene is top notch will prevent bacteria from causing excessive inflammation in your digestive tract. So make sure you floss between the cracks of your teeth, brush your tongue and brush your teeth.

5. Drink water: Of all the things you can do, this is the simplest and most effective. You see, when you drink water, you help your stomach digest food. You will feel better and extract more nutrients from whatever you are eating.

Keeping your digestive system in tip top shape is a great way to get your body to lose more weight. It will also help you feel healthier all around. So make sure you take action here sooner rather than later!

4 Benefits Of Eating Lots Of Protein For Arm Toning

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

With all the savvy marketing out there it can be virtually impossible to find the right diet for getting toned arms. Unless you have a degree in exercise science, making the right decisions can be extremely hard.

I know because I used to be in this situation.

Even worse, the experts can’t even agree on which diet is best. And if they can’t agree, how are you supposed to make a choice?

The good news is that I’ve already gone through all the headaches for you. I know what works and what doesn’t.

So without further ado, here are 4 reasons why high-protein diets are effective for reducing flabby arms:

1. Ease of implementation: Merely cutting out carbohydrates from your diet is extremely simple. The elimination of a single food group does not take much work. And if it doesn’t take much work, you are more likely to stick with it.

2. Fastest weight loss: Although mostly water, this type of diet will produce the fastest weight loss. So if watching the scale move quickly is your thing, this diet may suit you.

3. No appetite: After a couple days without carbs, you’ll go into ketosis. Once in ketosis your appetite will magically vanish. Ok, it won’t completely go away, but you’ll definitely notice a reduction-a massive reduction.

4. Reduced insulin: Carbohydrates have the biggest impact on insulin. So if you cut them out, insulin will be extremely low. And insulin controls arm fat burning.

Is it time to throw out the carbs and buy a bunch of meat? Probably not because high protein diets come with a lot of negatives. And I believe the negatives outweigh the positives. Unfortunately, I can’t cover everything in a single article, so keep your eyes peeled. And always remember to do solid research before going on an extreme diet.

One more thing: the most important element is taking action. So get started today!
